Reducing the Level of Unpaid Rates - Amendment 1
Leave out all after 'August 2025;' and insert:
‘notes that the majority of rates are paid on time; further notes the work being carried out by Land and Property Services to provide flexibility to those who are struggling to pay their rates by offering flexible payment options such as paying in instalments; acknowledges the increase in the target figure for gross collectable rates operated by Land and Property Services; further acknowledges the potential to attain greater rates revenue by elevating the domestic rates cap; and calls on all parties to support a change to the domestic rates cap from properties valued from £400,000 to properties valued at £485,000 so that additional revenue can be raised and used to better resource our vital public services.’
