Text
I thank the Minister for her statement. Minister, you have been clear in your view that no one in the Department is responsible for what has happened. Such cases are delicate, and we have to ensure that the rights of everyone involved are protected. Our thoughts are with the Kelly family, given the re-traumatising effect of this incident. There is no way that such decisions can be made with complete guarantees. However, for the judiciary to make a decision, it is crucial that the information provided be accurate and up to date, and it appears that the Prison Service has failed in that regard. Who, in your view, is responsible for that failing? Where does accountability lie?
