Text
I have no vires over the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, but I would ask that people respect the role of firefighters in the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and accept that, at times, they put themselves in harm's way physically and mentally to keep the public safe. I would therefore ask that everybody who is in a position of responsibility or authority make sure that they do all that they can to keep our firefighters safe, and, when those firefighters have to put themselves in harm's way, that everything is done to make sure that the environment is as amenable as possible.
