Text
The issue has been under active review since concerns first emerged. The trust has been progressing a careful, clinically led look-back process, in line with established guidance. During that time, the priority has been to ensure that the information is validated and that patients are contacted in a structured and supportive way rather than causing unnecessary alarm. I make this broader point to the Member: any time that something goes wrong, as the Minister, I expect an early alert. In other words, I expect to be alerted in real time about a problem or potential problem. Such, arguably, lengthy delays in problems coming into the public domain are not acceptable to me.
