Text

It has to be a two-way street. I encourage my Executive colleagues to look at all areas in which they can achieve additional funding. In this instance, it is Shared Island Fund funding. There has to be alignment between that and our Programme for Government. Better engagement at the level of the Taoiseach's office and the Executive would be beneficial to ensuring that funding coming forward, which, it has to be said, is welcome, will further align with our Programme for Government and therefore fits into the plan for delivery and change that we want to see across the board. Without a doubt, Shared Island funding is making a real difference not only through this project but elsewhere.
