Text

I recognise the importance of that agenda; indeed, it was my proposal to set up an Office of AI and Digital. When our Chief Scientific and Technology Adviser (CSTA) came into place, she was tasked with bringing forward that strategy. They are key and new initiatives by the Executive, contained in our Programme for Government. A detailed strategy has been brought forward, and that is under consideration. I am optimistic that we will be in a position to launch that publicly for consultation very shortly. I commend the CSTA for the huge amount of work that she has done. I recognise that a number of people have come on board and freely given their time to contribute to the draft strategy. That has been very valuable in this important area of work.
