Text

I thank the Minister for the statement on this most important issue. Of course, our thoughts are with Katie's family. Katie was let down by the system, but the system is made up of individuals who operate within it. We have a complicated tapestry of justice agencies. Some of those agencies are the responsibility of the Minister, some are not, and some are the responsibility of other Ministers who need to step up to the mark. What assurance can the Minister give that all those agencies will be required to carry out the recommendations that are contained in the report, so that we can have confidence that all the agencies and individuals will do everything that they can so that this does not happen again?
