Text

I thank the Minister for her statement and for the publication of the independent review. Like everyone else, I pay heartfelt tribute to the family of Katie Simpson. This must be a difficult day, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Minister, the review sets it out that, in cases involving coercive control and domestic violence, bail conditions must focus on the safety of victims and their families. Is there a role for you in bringing in new legislation to amend the current bail regulations, and will you commit to including any changes in the Criminal Justice (Sentencing etc) Bill or in the forthcoming victims and witnesses Bill?
