Text

As the House will be aware, the call for evidence for the Committee Stage of the Petroleum Exploration and Licensing (Repeal) Bill has commenced. As Members will also be aware, there were a large number of responses received to the Department's related consultation. In order to give it time to engage with all the anticipated relevant stakeholders, the Committee unanimously agreed that it would seek an extension to the Bill's Committee Stage until 30 October 2026. If the motion is passed by the House, the Committee will endeavour to conclude its deliberations in advance of the date in the motion. On behalf of the Committee, I commend the motion to the House.
