Text
I extend my thoughts to Katie's family, who are very bravely here. Minister, last week, the Criminal Justice Inspection review of the Domestic Abuse and Civil Proceedings Act 2021 showed a poor uptake and a reducing quality of training in the justice system. It is clear from your statement that more work needs to be done in policing to recognise coercive control as a serious and potentially lethal risk factor and to recognise and challenge gendered stereotypes and victim-blaming narratives. What more can be done by you and your Department to ensure that the Domestic Abuse and Civil Proceedings Act is implemented in full?
