Text

The car bomb at Dunmurry police station on Saturday night was a reprehensible and evil attack not just on our brave Police Service of Northern Ireland officers but on the entire community. I thank the police and the other emergency services that responded to the incident with courage in helping to evacuate the area. It is only by the grace of God that no one was killed or seriously injured in that disgraceful terrorist attack. It is incumbent on all of us here today to be united in condemnation of it and in urging anyone with any information that might help to apprehend the perpetrators to contact the police or Crimestoppers. It is clear that the people of Northern Ireland do not want that. Communities do not want that. We do not want to go back. What happened on Saturday night was evil — it was wrong — and we need to stand together against it.
