Text
As I have said, I welcome the recommendations that have come out of that report. The quality of some reinstatements is an issue — I think that it is fair to say that it is a real bugbear — not just for Members across the House but for the wider public. As I have said, we have already acted on some of the recommendations and will continue to work to see how we can further implement and deliver better-quality outcomes for everybody. I have reinforced my commitment to ensuring that our road network is maintained to the standard that we all expect, and which the public rightly deserves, within a very financially constrained environment. I am confident that the new strategy can help to achieve that and that we will see real, positive benefits in the future.
