Text

As the Member will know, we have asked the UK Government to step up and to do so urgently. There is a significant amount of tax on fuel, for example. That is something about which the UK Government must do something, and urgently. We have also asked them to bring forward a package to support people who are struggling, particularly our small to medium-sized businesses and hauliers, as well as our farmers, who are also feeling the pressure. As I indicated in my previous answer, I disagree with what the Member said. People who are listening to Question Time want their representatives to focus on trying to get support out to them and on making sure that we make the best case for the people of Northern Ireland instead of trying to score political points in the Chamber.
