Text
It is incredibly important that we get the information, and that is why I attend when I get an invitation to do so. It is incredibly important for us to know what will happen down the line. It is not just a snapshot of what has happened thus far; we can get a sense of what will happen from the people who monitor the situation internationally. Of course, international relations and defence are not devolved issues, and we therefore rely on Whitehall and the UK Government. I have been pushing the UK Government to ensure that we are constantly kept in the loop about those important issues. As we plot the way forward over the next number of months, it is important that we get that information and use it to put in place the policies and the things that we need to do to protect our businesses, farmers, fishing industry and the citizens of Northern Ireland.
