Text
Go raibh maith agat, a Cheann Comhairle.
I thank Members for their comments and thank the Committee for its work. As Members have said, the scheme is worth reinstating for those living in isolated rural communities who depend on available ATMs. We all appreciate the difficulties that are encountered in those communities from any measure that could lead to a reduction in the availability of ATMs, especially at this time. The Executive wish to do all that they can to support people in rural areas. I am content to take any extension of the scheme on board and will ask officials to look at that. I want to reassure myself and other Members that we are not giving a simple tax relief to banks and that any actions that we take are to the benefit of local communities that use such facilities. I commend the order to the Assembly.
