Text

As a member of the Policing Board, I know that one of the issues that is affecting recruitment is the lack of neighbourhood officers: those officers who can go into communities and, in slow time, talk to people, engage with community groups and organisations and encourage people to join the Police Service. Does the First Minister agree that the obliteration of the Police Service's budget, which is a result of the Executive's Budget constraints, is preventing it from being able to recruit the right number of people to the force and the neighbourhood officer team?
