Text
My understanding is that the PSNI portal has been in operation for some time and is a cost- and resource-saving measure. I also understand that it is possible to get assistance with access to the portal if required. Ultimately, however, how the PSNI receives applications and dispenses licences is an operational matter, so it would be for the Member, if he wishes, to approach the Chief Constable on behalf of his constituents. Other Members have raised the matter with me, but my understanding is that the majority of applications go through smoothly and that the issue is, perhaps, more about the volume of applications and the length of time that it takes to process them.
