Text
I thank the Member for giving way. In opening the debate, he said that this is the least important thing that we will discuss today. That is true. It is factual. I ask this of the Member sincerely, however: how would he be responding if it were the DUP that had tabled the motion? Would he have called it childish? Would he have called it tinkering? Would he have called it a distraction from the serious issues of today? I guarantee that the Member would not be taking the position that he is adopting now if the DUP had tabled the motion.

- No identity-based framing was identified (0.94).
- Subject area: Constitutional question, Brexit, the Windsor Framework and sovereignty.

Against the published rubric
The intervention questions the proposer's consistency, asking how he would respond "if it were the DUP that had tabled the motion" and whether he would have called it "childish" or "tinkering". It makes no claim that a community, culture or identity is being slighted, threatened or favoured, and it does not portray any group with hostility. Although the debate concerns the symbolically sensitive titles of the First Minister and deputy First Minister, this contribution is an accusation of partisan double standards rather than identity framing, communal antagonism or cultural grievance.
Public interest or divisiveness
The contribution adds little on the substance of the titles question and works mainly as adversarial point-scoring about another member's motives. That point-scoring is party-political rather than identity-based: it does not set communities against each other or contest any group's place in public life. It neither meaningfully advances the public interest nor deepens communal division, so its effect is mixed.
