Text
I absolutely do. I am very mindful of the family, given that the anniversary of Pat's death has just passed. It has been 37 years of campaigning for truth and justice, 37 years of being let down at every turn by the British Government, and 37 years of promises being made and then reneged on. I commend the family, and I urge the British Government to step forward to do the right thing. They committed to the inquiry but have yet to agree the terms of reference. That is not acceptable or good enough, so they need to get on with it and allow the family the ability to move forward. I make that plea to the British Government today: stop making the Finucane family wait; do the right thing; develop the terms of reference; let the work get under way; and let the family get answers.
