Text

The tone of the whole conversation is sad. If it happened in the town that I represent, as a community leader, I would ask the council to open the leisure centre. I would bring the people who had been driven out of their homes by violent thugs to the leisure centre and make sure that they were safe while they were there. That is exactly what all of you who are talking now, including Mr Aiken, should have done.

This is an AI-generated assessment of the text, made against published criteria. It is not a finding of fact about the MLA or their intentions. The Assembly record itself is the fact.
