Text
I am happy to provide the Member with a list of the efficiencies that my Department has made over the past number of years to ensure that public funds are used in an effective and efficient manner. The way in which the Executive are established means that I have only certain powers, which certain Ministers will be blessed to hear. I cannot go into other Departments and tell them what to do, as much as I would sometimes like to. It is up to each Department, Minister and accounting officer to outline the efficiencies that they have made. If there are services that are either no longer required or are unsustainable, it is up to them to defend whatever decision they make in that regard.
