Text
There are various pathways. I will come back to that in a moment. This man will not tell girls in my constituency that they cannot choose to attend St Louis Grammar School or Dalriada School. That is their choice. If they want to aspire to that, I will support it. I will champion Catholic grammar schools, which have been let down by political representatives who do not champion them. I served in Derry/Londonderry — whatever you want to call it — for many years. I saw the social mobility of people who went to the excellent Catholic grammar schools in that city. Look at what St Columb's College has produced: Seamus Heaney, John Hume and Phil Coulter.

Against the published rubric
The contribution is part of a debate on academic selection and argues for pupils' choice to attend grammar schools, citing social mobility and alumni of a Derry grammar school. The reference to "Catholic grammar schools… let down by political representatives who do not champion them" criticises other parties' policy stance on selection rather than attacking a community or its culture. The aside "Derry/Londonderry — whatever you want to call it" is a passing acknowledgement of the naming dispute, not a grievance. No identity contest, hostility or coded attack drives the text.
Public interest or divisiveness
The text mainly engages with a live education policy question: whether academic selection should continue and whether it aids social mobility. It praises schools across both traditions and makes a partisan point about other representatives' positions on selection. That is ordinary political argument, not identity-based point-scoring or division.
