Text
Like others, I welcome the change and welcome anything that will save lives on our roads. However, like the Speaker and the Chair of the Infrastructure Committee, I am deeply concerned about the way that it has been handled. It is a slight on the scrutiny of our Committee, which works in a collegial way with you and your Department to get the best outcomes in the Department for Infrastructure. It is also a slight on the House. Notwithstanding that, will you confirm what recent consultation you and your Department have carried out, particularly with driving instructors? What recent engagement have they had with you? When can we start to see some of the roll-out of the exemptions that may be in place for young people who will be going through the scheme?
