Text

I thank the Member for her question. It is important to remember that the rates pressure comes on the back of many other pressures. We need to continue to engage with the sector on it. The Member and anybody who listened to the Finance Minister yesterday will be familiar with the reasoning behind the revaluations. It is to ensure that there is fairness in our rates system and that it keeps up to speed. One of the asks of the business community was that revaluations take place more regularly. As I said, I encourage all businesses that may have concerns to continue to engage with LPS and the Department of Finance over the coming weeks, because, as the Finance Minister made clear yesterday, there are a number of opportunities to do so.
