Text
With any prescription, we rely on the clinicians and the experts to make a clinical assessment and to do the right thing. The Member will be aware that, before we get to that point with GLP-1 medication, for example, bodies in England — the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence — will have examined those medications and either approved or not approved them. Therefore, by the time that they are on the market, we have a reasonable expectation that they have been approved and are safe, and then we rely on the prescribing clinicians to do the right thing.
