Text
I am very proud of my time in the Department of Health, and I was very proud to be the Minister who brought forward 'Health and Wellbeing 2026: Delivering Together', which was the response to the Bengoa report. That was the blueprint. Many of those recommendations have been implemented, and I commend that and much more. It is very clear, however, that we need to continue to transform our health service. There have been significant improvements even in the past year. We look forward to the next year and even more improvements, because we have to get to a point where people's health outcomes are much better. I will work constructively with the Health Minister to ensure that we have in place transformation plans that will make a meaningful difference to people's outcomes. Ultimately, it needs to be about how we can improve people's lives.
