Text
As you know, the heart of our victims and survivors strategy is about being trauma-informed and about being mindful of the needs of victims. It is very much victim-centred. It is about dealing with the past, but it is also about supporting victims in the here and now. Equally, it is about building a shared future. I have always said that I regret the loss of every life without exception. That is what my position will be today, tomorrow and the day after. The job of all of us together is to try to meet the needs of victims and survivors and to ensure that we have the right strategy and the right supports in place through the five regional organisations that we work with and through the 40 groups that we work with on a more local basis. Let us continue to do everything that we can to support victims and survivors in the here and now and look towards healing the wounds of the past. That has always been my endeavour.
