Text

I am not sure why the Member thinks that I have not been clear on the issue. The North/South interconnector is critical infrastructure. It is really unfortunate that it will be delayed; some of the issues that we have been dealing with recently in relation to the security of supply would not be happening if we had the North/South interconnector. The Member is well aware of my party's long-stated policy in respect of the interconnector's being overground or underground. We also have a planning application that has been approved. Departments have to ensure that that is progressed and implemented as set out.
