Text
I thank the Member for his question. What I set out last week was in response to a report that was undertaken by Invest NI on its investments. In response to that, there is a moral duty on us to ensure that we are not facilitating the genocide that is happening in Gaza. Israel is a regime that is illegally occupying and imposing apartheid in Palestine. It is carrying out a genocide, and there is a legal obligation on all Governments to take action to prevent genocide, including by not arming or providing financial support to those who are committing genocide. That is what I set out in my statement last week. In respect of memorials and other things across the region, as the Member will be well aware, there was a report by the Commission on Flags, Identity, Culture and Tradition (FICT), and it is not my party that is blocking the taking forward of recommendations in that.
