Text
I thank the Minister for his statement. My thoughts are with the farmers involved. While farmers will be compensated for their birds, there is no compensation for loss of income, which is a big issue for them. Loss of income can be very detrimental to a business. Given that there have been no outbreaks of bird flu in Northern Ireland since February 2025, do we have any idea of the source of infection? For instance, are there any outbreaks in the neighbouring jurisdiction of the Republic of Ireland?
