Text

Earlier today, I received an email from a constituent whom I will not name. He said that, on Friday evening, a group of people knocked on his front door to enquire as to whether he would support an upcoming protest about housing for local people in the area. He said politely that he would not. His wife had immigrated to here, and he said that he felt uncomfortable about the tone used by the people at his door and about some of the protests. Will you, as Minister for housing, take the opportunity to distance yourself from the scenes that we have seen, even when they have not been violent, and from the protests outside people's homes calling for local homes for local people? The situation is deeply troubling. Are you troubled by it, Minister? What are you doing about it?
