Text

I thank the First Minister for her statement. I am bit confused by the statement. Sinn Féin has announced all-Ireland health proposals, which is a concept that I firmly support, but there seems to have been no mention of that at the North/South Ministerial Council meeting. Is that a further demonstration of Sinn Féin's "all show and no go" strategy?

Assessment

Not flagged

Not flagged on a second assessment, because Jev’s answers did not settle it. The reasons are given below.

  • Overall probability that the activity is being used to promote, exploit or escalate an identity-based controversy: 0.41 (flagging needs at least 0.70; at or below 0.30 is not flagged).
  • None of the five culture-war criteria was met (each was below 0.60).
  • No identity-based framing was identified (0.63).
  • The answers did not meet either automatic threshold.

This is an AI-generated assessment of the text, made against published criteria. It is not a finding of fact about the MLA or their intentions. The Assembly record itself is the fact.

Second assessment

Jev’s answers did not settle this record, so a second model, claude-opus-5-5, read the same text (without the MLA’s name or party) and gave its reasons on 21 October 2026. How the second assessment works

Against the published rubric

The contribution asks why all-Ireland health proposals announced by a party were not raised at the North/South Ministerial Council, and it calls this a sign of an "all show and no go" strategy. The speaker says they "firmly support" the concept, so the criticism concerns the party's delivery and follow-through, not its identity or the community it represents. There is no identity framing, communal hostility, cultural grievance or coded language. Criticising a party's record falls outside the rubric's definition of an identity-based attack.

Public interest or divisiveness

This is ordinary partisan scrutiny of whether a stated policy on cross-border health co-operation is being pursued through the relevant intergovernmental body. The jibe is political point-scoring, but it is about performance, not about any group's place in public life. Its function is to hold ministers to their own announcements, which serves the public interest.
