Text

I thank the Minister. Other Members have raised the issue of Lough Neagh, which is a real concern for many of us. Will you give us some sense of what the Shared Island initiative that you have talked about will involve? What stakeholders will be engaged in that? Members have spoken about the agriculture community — I declare an interest as somebody who comes from an agricultural background — but we also need to engage fishermen, both those who fish on boats and our angling community. All those people have a vested interest in protecting our lough. Will you also give us a sense of what environmental and economic benefits our population might gain from the lough in the future?
