Text

There are a lot of aspects of the Sinn Féin motion that I wish I had time to deal with, but I will be able to cover only a few. It quotes figures from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The figures that Sinn Féin uses are taken from the office's briefing paper. First, let me get on the record that there has been an absolutely appalling loss of life in Gaza and Israel — I will come back to that later. Clarity and transparency, however, are important. Those figures that from the OCHA and that were quoted by the Members opposite come directly from the Hamas-run Ministry of Health.

Assessment

Not flagged

Jev’s structured answers met the documented threshold for “not flagged”.

  • Overall probability that the activity is being used to promote, exploit or escalate an identity-based controversy: 0.20 (flagging needs at least 0.70; at or below 0.30 is not flagged).
  • None of the five culture-war criteria was met (each was below 0.60).
  • No identity-based framing was identified (0.75).
  • The overall probability was at or below the not-flagging threshold.

This is an AI-generated assessment of the text, made against published criteria. It is not a finding of fact about the MLA or their intentions. The Assembly record itself is the fact.
