Text

I would like to, but, unfortunately, non-molestation orders fall under the Department of Finance's remit. However, we have raised the level of protection that the non-molestation orders offer to people who have an order that has been breached. The breach of a non-molestation order is a criminal offence. Therefore, a person can be taken to court for that. How it is progressed is an operational matter for court officials, the judiciary and the police. However, I want to make sure that the proper protections are in place to ensure that people have the wrap-around services that they need. We have specifically raised non-molestation orders with the Department of Finance to see whether the system requires any reform.
