Text

In the House, we often hear attempts to blame migrants or asylum seekers for the real crisis in our public services, which is caused by underfunding, not by migration. Will you, Minister, take the chance to distance yourself from those comments and say clearly that migration adds to our communities and to the fabric of our society and does not put pressure on our services? People are living in terror and want to know that the deputy First Minister, at least, has their back.

This is an AI-generated assessment of the text, made against published criteria. It is not a finding of fact about the MLA or their intentions. The Assembly record itself is the fact.
