Text
I thank the Member for his important question. As I set out, we need funding for roads, schools and hospitals. We need to invest in water and in sewerage and to support people with public services that they not only need but deserve. That is why there has been a series of engagements with the UK Government. The Finance Minister was over in London having direct conversations. The First Minister and I took the opportunity to put our asks directly to the Prime Minister. I assure the Member that we did so robustly, making clear that we are up to and up for the challenge of transformation and reform. No one is simply saying, "Give us more money, and we will continue to do what we do in the way in which we do it". We have a very significant and ambitious agenda for transformation and reform, but we need the money to invest in order to transform, as well as funding right now to support front-line services for people.
