Text
I thank the Member for his hugely important question. People throughout Northern Ireland see, every day, what each Department needs to do. They see potholes on roads, health waiting lists, an inability to access their GP when they need it, waiting lists for SEN, the need for affordable and flexible childcare and the need for investment in water and sewage infrastructure. Those are the key priorities for supporting people, no matter what their background or politics. In order to support people to be happy, to thrive and to get the jobs that they want with the education that they need, we really need to invest in public services. We anticipate receiving some additional capital funding, and we need to look at the draft investment strategy for Northern Ireland (ISNI) to determine how best to invest it. It is incredibly important, however, that we support investment in the public services that people throughout Northern Ireland are crying out for.
