Text
On a point of order, Mr Speaker. I welcome the fact that you have made that announcement. It is an extremely serious matter, into which the Committee for Finance has been looking. Frankly, it is a shambolic situation. Will your office confirm, today or subsequently, whether this is the first time that the Assembly has failed to be given the opportunity to give legislative consent when it has been sitting? In addition, is there some mechanism whereby the Assembly can write to UK Government to make clear to them that we have had no opportunity to give or withhold legislative consent for that Bill?
