Text
As I mentioned in my answer to Diana Armstrong, the methodology is very technical, so I do not intend to go through the detail of how it is worked out. However, I have spoken to officials, and they have provided me with answers to questions for written answer and questions for oral answer from other Members on how it is worked out. We can get a more detailed answer for the Member, but, as I said earlier, it is a needs-based approach. It looks at where the greatest need is and factors in roads that carry the greatest volume of traffic in order to ensure that they are repaired quickly. Different priorities are given to different levels of disrepair, as required. I am happy to get further information on the exact way that the issue is looked at and considered, if that would be useful to the Member. Hopefully, it will help, as it helped me to better understand how the allocations are made.
