Text

Whilst the Minister is practically a youngster, most of us are getting older and progressing in years, and we know that there will be an increasing number of older people in our communities. Does the Minister agree that some form of formal, official older people's service — akin to what we have with the Youth Service for young people — should be developed so that there are organised activities in every area across Northern Ireland for older people to engage with? Having information about what help is available for them, tackling loneliness and social exclusion and all the other benefits would be of great use to people as they grow older.
