Text

The impact of sport in Northern Ireland is almost unquantifiable because the benefits are huge. Across the Departments in Northern Ireland, you will see the impacts, whether they are in Health, Education or, potentially, the justice system, of getting people, especially young people, involved in sport. The grassroots level has a huge impact, which is why I am such a strong supporter of it. I do not have in front of me and nor have I seen the full list of applications, but I reiterate what I said to Mrs Erskine: we have had a total of 37 applications from the performance clubs.
