Text
The published 'Review of South East Flooding: Autumn 2023' detailed 22 recommendations, which the Department and multi-agency partners will be responsible for delivering. The recommendations include developing flood forecasting capability and further enhancements to communications, resilience and surface water management. Although my Department is not the lead agency for the delivery of all the recommendations from the review, we will take the lead in the coordination and oversight of the implementation of all recommendations through the establishment of a flooding review recommendations group. Regular meetings continue with members of the group, and there is a focus on the development of an agreed action plan to outline responsibilities and associated timescales, with the anticipation that all recommendations will be addressed within 24 months.
