Text
Thanks. We all witnessed the shock waves that arose as a direct result of the tariff announcements, which have created much uncertainty and concern. Businesses are struggling, and they find themselves back in the situation of not knowing what is going to happen next. One thing that businesses dislike more than anything is uncertainty because it makes it very difficult to plan. Throughout this crisis, the deputy First Minister, Caoimhe as the Economy Minister and I have engaged directly at Prime Minister level, Tánaiste level and Secretary of State level. We will continue to ensure that the voice of our local economy is heard. I take the Member's point about the all-island economy and the need to ensure that we have frictionless trade. You can see the growth of the all-island economy over recent years, and we want that to continue. I want to see free-flowing trade across these islands without barriers and interruptions so that our businesses, our economy and our people can flourish. We will continue to work as we navigate through this period dominated by uncertainty.
