Text

When it comes to capital investments that we seek to take forward, such as for the school that the Member has mentioned, we pursue the various stages. I welcome the stage that that school is at, which the Member has articulated. Before entering into a contractual obligation, we need to make sure that capital funding is available. We continue to keep that under review. There are significant capital pressures in the Department of Education to the tune of hundreds of millions of pounds. I am acutely aware of the needs of the school that the Member has mentioned. As we review our capital position and take any decisions on further progress, we will take those needs into account.
