Text
Thank you very much, Mr Deputy Speaker. I will talk about the amazing spectacle that is the North West 200, which was held last week. I record my sincere thanks to and appreciation for the clerk of the course, Stanleigh Murray, as well as Mervyn Whyte and the rest of the team. They put on a tremendous spectacle for all sports fans and tourists alike. Thousands travelled to the north coast of Northern Ireland to view the bikes and their riders, and they witnessed some amazing races. My heart goes out to Michael Dunlop and Paul Jordan — two of our own, who won on Saturday and Thursday — as well as to the spectacular Davey Todd and Richard Cooper, who put on a tremendous show. We should value the North West 200 more. We in government should support it more and get in line with the sponsors, who know a good event when they see one. Well done to the North West 200.
