Text

I have questioned my officials on this because I would like to see things expedited, but a number of voluntary and community groups have indicated that they need to get this right and that they would rather go through the detailed work. That is why the time frame is slightly longer than I would like it to be. It is hoped that there will be a launch in early 2026. The proposals need to come to me in the summer. We then need to take decisions and put them out to public consultation, and time will be needed to work through that. The objective, however, is to move towards having a launch in early 2026. The sooner all the key stakeholders can move forward on the process, the better. I want to enable the outworkings of the policy, but I am dependent on all the organisations playing their part to aid me.

Assessment

Not flagged

Jev’s structured answers met the documented threshold for “not flagged”.

  • Overall probability that the activity is being used to promote, exploit or escalate an identity-based controversy: 0.03 (flagging needs at least 0.70; at or below 0.30 is not flagged).
  • None of the five culture-war criteria was met (each was below 0.60).
  • No identity-based framing was identified (1.00).
  • The overall probability was at or below the not-flagging threshold.

This is an AI-generated assessment of the text, made against published criteria. It is not a finding of fact about the MLA or their intentions. The Assembly record itself is the fact.
