Text

We are all aware of the changing nature of our high streets and city centres. It is not just us who grapple with that. I am willing to work across Departments to look at how we can support the development of strong and thriving high streets. We had the high street task force, and many of its recommendations are being implemented. As I mentioned in a previous answer, local economic partnerships are being set up under each of the councils. There are opportunities there for each area to develop economic plans that meet the needs of their local community. As I also said in a previous answer, funding has been provided for those. It aims to support each of the local economic partnerships to develop proposals and work alongside Departments in taking some of those proposals forward.
