Text
I do not hold figures on spending by the Police Ombudsman on that legal action. As I have previously explained to Members, the ombudsman is a corporation sole, appointed by royal warrant on the advice of the First Minister and deputy First Minister. I have oversight of her office — I will have an oversight meeting with her in the next few weeks — but not of the ombudsman's decisions, in which she acts completely independently of me. You can write to the ombudsman's office to ask for that information, and it should be forthcoming. It has not been presented to me, however, and I do not hold those figures.
