Text

Members need to reflect on their approach. They owe that school an apology, as does the Education Committee. I went to the Committee for two hours to talk about children with special educational needs and all the other issues in our education system. For 90 minutes, the Committee prioritised an investigation — if you want to call it that — into £700,000 being spent at one school. Not one Member who was critical about the issue has highlighted the glaringly obvious contrast: non-controlled schools have received nearly identical levels of funding for the exact same provision. When it comes to that issue, the motivation is therefore pretty obvious.

Assessment

Not flagged

Jev’s structured answers met the documented threshold for “not flagged”.

  • Overall probability that the activity is being used to promote, exploit or escalate an identity-based controversy: 0.44 (flagging needs at least 0.70; at or below 0.30 is not flagged).
  • None of the five culture-war criteria was met (each was below 0.60).
  • No identity-based framing was identified (0.77).
  • Subject area: Education structures, integration and community division.
  • The overall probability was low and the text did not adopt any identity-based framing.

This is an AI-generated assessment of the text, made against published criteria. It is not a finding of fact about the MLA or their intentions. The Assembly record itself is the fact.
